Master’s and Doctorate-level Internship Applicants:

Thank you for expressing your interest in pursuing a graduate counseling internship with Lantern Lane Farm Counseling.

Our mission is to provide restorative and compassionate care through traditional and equine-assisted counseling services in a peaceful countryside setting. We are looking for internship applicants who will share in this mission with us.

Internship offers tremendous opportunities to grow, both personally and professionally. Among other things, our counseling interns experience:

  • Clients of all ages who have lived through a myriad of circumstances.

  • Supportive supervision to help grow you as a clinician.

  • A collaborative community comprised of other interns and post-masters therapists. We take our work seriously, but we also love to laugh together.

  • Continuing education opportunities to keep growing your knowledge and skills.

  • A non-traditional counseling setting that allows for both indoor and outdoor sessions. This also includes the unique option to incorporate horses into therapy sessions.

Testimonials

Lantern Lane Farm has been such a great experience for me. With learning from all of the other therapists to learning a lot about myself, along with learning from the clients. Being able to use the knowledge learned through course work and on the job, I have been able to treat my clients with the best care possible. Lantern Lane Farm is one big family and I’ve been grateful to be accepted into this family. I am very thankful to have had this opportunity to be able to work and collaborate with each therapist.

I loved interning at Lantern Lane because I simultaneously felt trusted and autonomous while also feeling fully supported. Guidance was always available if I asked for it, and I never felt silly asking a lot of questions. The environment is unmatched, between the land, horses, and available resources, to the staff members who always made me feel so welcomed. I loved my experience so much that when I had the opportunity to stay on after graduation, I took it!
