Our Counseling Services

The purpose of the counseling services offered at Lantern Lane Farm is to provide presence and assistance in a "safe place" for individuals, children, and families as they seek to discover truth and become healthier emotionally, spiritually, and physically. The counselors tailor their approach according to each need. We also offer Equine Assisted Psychotherapy (EAP) and Equine Assisted Learning (EAL) in conjunction with traditional counseling, which enables individuals to gain valuable insights about themselves and others through interactions with horses. All EAP and EAL activities take place horse-side (100% on the ground).

Our Occupational Therapy Services

Occupational therapy for children focuses on the “jobs” that children are expected to complete, such as play, school activities, social engagement, and self-care. Engaging motor activities are used, initially, to improve regulation of emotions and activity levels which, in turn, provides a safe environment for children to develop social and motor skills. Parent participation is an essential component of therapy, as they identify priorities for setting goals to improve functioning and facilitate the generalization of skills to natural environments.

"While many occupational therapists use music during therapy, my training as a music therapist gives me a unique ability to not only use music, but to know what music to use and why. When appropriate, music is an integral part of occupational therapy sessions, including activities such as singing, instrument playing, music listening, and movement activities. It is a joy to see the power and beauty of music touch the lives of children."  -Gloria Isaacks, MS, OTR/L, MT-BC ~ Occupational Therapist, Music Therapist
