Meet Our Board of Directors
Bill Manley, Board President
Bill is retired from his position as Assistant Vice President of Solutions Development at HCA Information Systems, where he worked for 19 years. He has served on the board of Lantern Lane Farm for the past four years, and currently serves on a board for another organization as well. Bill feels a deep responsiblity to serve others at this stage of his life. He has lived in the Nashville area most of his life, except during his three years of military service. Bill is married to his lovely wife, Angela, and together they have 4 children and 5 grandchildren. He enjoys being with family, playing music, scuba diving and traveling.
Rev. Michael W. Moran, Board Vice President
Michael has had several careers over his lifetime, from private entrepreneur to corporate negotiator. He received his Master of Divinity from Yale Divinity School and his MBA from Sacred Heart University. Michael worked with a large Gospel Rescue Mission in the Northeast, where he was responsible for the management of all programs and ministries for the last seven years. This last position reflects his true passion and he did it in honor of Jesus Christ. Working with and providing for the poor, the hurting, the addicted of the inner city taught him skills that can be used to help Lantern Lane Farm grow its ministry. Michael is truly blessed, and humbled, to be a part of this organization and being able to share in the miracles that happen every day.
Joni Cook grew up in Michigan on a blueberry farm, which is where she learned a good work ethic from her parents. Joni has a BS degree from Liberty University. Upon graduation from college, Joni worked for the university as a dorm supervisor and took masters level classes in education. Joni served alongside her husband Ralph in 3 different churches while helping raise their two sons and working as a land developer and realtor. Ralph and Joni began Lantern Lane Farm in 2000, which became a non-profit entity in 2008. Ralph and Joni have two grown sons, who are both married, and four grandchildren who they adore. Currently, Joni enjoys serving as Executive Director of Lantern Lane Farm, Inc. and loves spending time with Ralph and their family.
In 2003, Ralph was an accomplished music educator serving as a Minister of Music, a Minister of Youth, and a teacher. But he felt the desire to serve not only through education, but to minister to children and adults through counseling.
He obtained his Master's Degree in Marriage and Family Therapy (MFT) from Trevecca Nazarene University in Nashville, Tennessee. In addition to his private practice at Lantern Lane, he practiced at the Babb Center in Hendersonville from 2004 - 2011. He also provides counseling on a part-time basis for Gladeville Baptist Church and is the Clinical Director of Lifeworks in Gallatin.
Daphne was raised in middle Tennessee and has worked in and around Nashville for all of her adult life. She is the General Manager of Sodexo Sports and Leisure at Vanderbilt Concessions. She has been in management, training and supervision throughout her professional career.
Daphne has been on the Lantern Lane Farm board for almost five years and looks forward to the future of our great organization. She loves spending time with her family and she enjoys the outdoors.
Lynell received her BS degree in Elementary Education from Georgetown College and her Masters degree in school counseling from Trevecca. Lynell was a first and second grade classroom teacher for 12 years and has been an elementary school counselor for 18 years. She currently serves as Rutland Elementary's Pre K - 2nd grade school counselor. She is a member of Gladeville Baptist Church and works with the high school girls ministry as well as a women's small group bible study. Her family is her greatest blessing. She has been married to Ron for 28 years. She has 2 adult children, Andrew and Alexandra, daughter-in-love, Ali, and 2 granddaughters, Zoë and Hadlee. She considers it an honor to serve on the board of Lantern Lane Farm.
Mary Powell is retired from HCA, where she worked for 32 years with a history in Nursing and Information Technology. She has lived in the Nashville area since 1966 and is blessed with 2 children and 4 grandchildren. In addition to serving on the board at Lantern Lane Farm, Mary also serves us as a volunteer, helping to make our clients feel welcome as they arrive. Mary enjoys activities which continue to contribute to her overall interest in the human condition as well as spending time with family, friends, gardening, and reading.
